Summer is now in full swing! Most kids are enjoying their summer breaks, the weather is warm, and there are many fun-filled summer activities and festivals coming up. As individuals and families plan their summer activities, why not visit one of the many local and entertaining festivals going on right in our own backyards?! Some of the upcoming events include:
In Los Angeles County Area:
- Orange County Fair (July 14th – August 13th): Enjoy carnival rides, games, agricultural and animal competitions, action sports, and more! For more information visit www.ocfair.com
- California Watermelon Festival (July 29th – 30th). Join the “melon mania” at this event, including carving displays, yummy food, watermelon clothing, contests, and watermelon skiing. There are also carnival rides, games, food, and live entertainment www.watermelonfest.org/
- Oxnard Salsa Festival (July 29th – 30th). Spice things up this summer at the Salsa Festival! Enjoy dancing and spicy flavors in downtown Oxnard http://oxnardsalsafestival.com/
- Burbank Comedy Festival (August 13th – August 19th). Enjoy the week-long laughs and instruction including comedy shows, panels, and panels. Visit http://burbankcomedyfestival.com/ for more.
In Kern County:
- Art Walk (1st Friday of each month)- family friendly arts event which showcases Kern County artists. http://kernarts.org/first-friday-art-walk/
- Cesar Chavez Community Celebration (August 6th). Enjoy a car show, free community health fair, concerts, and food. https://www.chavezcelebration.com/
